In June of 2000, I attended a workshop called “How to Find the Work You Love Doing.” My intention was to figure out which Ph.D. program I would enroll in to follow my master’s degree. At the time, I was the youngest collegiate Admissions Director in the city of Philadelphia, a city with 76 colleges and universities. It seemed obvious that my path was to stay in higher education. But something shifted that day. I met a woman named Roberta Fortune who introduced me to the coaching profession…and my entire life changed.
- Within a week, I’d hired Roberta to be my life coach.
- Within a month, I’d enrolled in CoachU (now CoachInc) to begin my coach training.
- And by August 2000, I had my first paying client.
Coaching wasn’t just a new career path. It was an invitation to show up and serve in the way I was meant to.
I have had the honor and privilege of serving as a catalyst, cheerleader and witness for thousands of people in their transformations. I get paid to help people live better, more authentic, more joyful lives. What could be more fulfilling?
Over the years, my business has grown and evolved, just like I have.
- I’ve had multiple brands – The Inspired Entrepreneur, The Revitalized Business Woman, Solitude Retreats, Sacred Celebrations, to name a few.
- I’ve loved the variety of delivery – speaking, coaching 1:1 and groups, workshops, retreats, networking groups, training, facilitating, writing, e-courses, podcasting, TV, radio, books, jewelry and ritual kits.
- The topics have been rich and meaningful – networking, marketing, business building, self-care, work/life balance, gratitude, resilience, grief, rituals, visioning, intention setting, adoption related, and more.
But the most consistent thread through it all? You. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing colleagues, clients, and friends over the past 25 years.
- People who said yes to their own transformation.
- Clients who showed up to do deep work.
- Students who circled up to learn and grow together.
- Women on retreat willing to be vulnerable and real with one another.
- Collaborations that turned into doing business together.
- Readers, listeners, fellow travelers.
YOU are the reason I’ve been able to do this work for 25 years.
