Greetings from the Sunshine State!
I’m writing this from the Florida panhandle after enjoying a few days of rest & relaxation with my little family during spring break.
We’ve had a great time walking the beach, looking for seashells, visiting with friends, eating local seafood and giving ourselves plenty of time to rest, to play and to be.
The beach is one of our happy places. (Any beach is good but the Florida gulf coast beaches are exceptional!)
And it was also our beloved dog Andy’s happy place too, as you can see from the blog photo!
But we also love the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. And our family farm in the sand hills of eastern North Carolina. And the creek by our house near Houston, Texas.
So my message for you this week is going to be short and sweet (since I’m still enjoying my vacation!)
When it’s time for you to rest and recharge and spend some quality time with yourself, your family or some friends, where do you go?
What are your happy places? (You can have more than one, ya know!)
- The beach? The mountains? A lake? The desert?
- A state park near your city? Or a botanical garden or nature retreat?
- Maybe you’re lucky enough to have a cabin or ranch or lake house that’s been in your family for years.
- Perhaps there’s a special trail in the woods near your home.
- Or a bench at a lake in your neighborhood where you can sit and feed the ducks.
Wherever your happy places are, make sure you get there often.
Spending time in nature is good for the spirit.
Not only will YOU benefit, but so will those around you.
When you take time to stop, rest, be, breathe and enjoy life… well, it just makes you HAPPY!
I’d love to know where your happy places are! Tell me, I’m all ears!
