Invite More Beauty Into Your Life… with #MeetTheMaker2023

by Elizabeth

Here in the northern hemisphere, we are starting to see inklings of spring. Daffodils are blooming, Bradford pear trees are blossoming, and cooler temps are punctuated with warmer sunny days.

Spring cleaning is top of mind this time of year. Decluttering anytime is good for the mind, body and spirit. But there’s something about doing it in the springtime that feels extra fresh.

Part of decluttering is determining items you no longer use, need or like. But it’s also about letting go of things that don’t, according to Marie Kondo, spark joy. That could include:

  • A piece of artwork that once inspired you, but no longer does.
  • A sweater that’s now out of style, and never really fit you right anyway.
  • A piece of furniture that you’re hanging onto because it was your grandmother’s, but it really doesn’t fit in your life anymore.

Surrounding ourselves with beauty is a key component of living with intention. Things that make us happy when we see them, add value to a space, or feel good to wear.

Ready to add more beauty to your life AND support small business owners and artists? Let me introduce you to an Instagram challenge that I have been participating in this month. It’s called #MarchMeetTheMaker and was inspired by Joanne Hawker, a British-based artist who designs unique cards and gifts.

Every day, in the month of March, small business owners around the world are participating by sharing their stories, behind the scenes looks, tidbits about their lives, and of course they’re sharing their wares. When you search #MarchMeettheMaker, you’ll find all sorts of cool and interesting discoveries to explore and you just might find some new art, new jewelry, or new clothes that will beautify your life!
