I’ve been working out with my personal trainer, Kandice, again for the past month. Not only is she helping me to get physically stronger, but as we chat during our sessions, we parse through the challenges of the world.
A few days ago, we were talking about the devastating shootings in recent weeks (Uvalde, Buffalo, and New York City just to name a few). We are both moms and we were saying how the moms that we know are not OK. But it’s certainly not restricted to moms. People everywhere are not OK right now. The emotional toll is heavy and there’s a pervasive feeling of overwhelm and hopelessness.
Allow yourself to feel what you feel. Check in with yourself. So, what do you need right now? Tune into that and it will help you navigate both the inner and outer emotional landscape which has been extremely rocky of late.
